Mr. Eric P H Chan is our Principal Solicitor. He specialises in litigation, and in particular three major areas:
Mr. Chan is experienced in handling commercial fraud cases, including those involving allegations of breaches of trust and misappropriation of trade secrets. Mr. Chan has worked extensively with the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force and ICAC as defence lawyers and as legal representatives for the informants. Mr. Chan has applied for mareva injunction to freeze bank accounts as well as Norwich Pharmacal Orders (a type of disclosure order) on various occasions.
Over the years, Mr. Chan has also developed a practice in disputes arising out of Cap. 545 Land (Compulsory Sale for Redevelopment) Ordinance and has obtained satisfactory outcomes for numerous clients.
Mr. Chan leads an experienced legal team that specialises in lodging personal injuries claims against negligent drivers, employers, occupiers and their insurers. Having acted for a vast number of clients, Mr. Chan has negotiated a large number of settlements for his clients.
Mr. Chan has been briefed by the Department of Justice as a fiat prosecutor, and has acted as defence counsel for clients in Court. In complex matters, Mr. Chan has instructed Senior Counsel on behalf of clients.
In a wounding causing grievous bodily harm (wounding 19) case, Mr. Chan as trial counsel successfully persuaded the Court to rule inadmissible a cautioned confession statement given by a client, which ultimately led to the client's acquittal.
Personal Background
Prior to founding CPH Legal, Mr. Chan has worked in the technology sector and in other law firms. Mr. Chan now specialises in litigation and has acted for or advised the HKSAR Government, shipping companies, semi-conductor firms, private equity and venture capital firms, as well as local, PRC, and foreign clients.
Besides work, Mr. Chan is an avid sailor and he also plays basketball for the Law Society of Hong Kong.

Sarah Ip, Consultant Solicitor

Ms. Ip grew up in the United Kingdom and returned to Hong Kong to embark on her legal career. She is currently our Consultant Solicitor. She specialises in will writing and estate planning and has prepared over 200 wills of a wide variety. She also has vast experience with cross-border estate planning for high net worth clients concerning inheritance tax and asset management, as well as experience in probate matters.

Crystal Ma , Solicitor

Ms. Ma obtained the highly regarded BBA (Law) degree from the University of Hong Kong and graduated with flying colours. As a long-standing solicitor of CPH Legal, she is experienced in handling personal injuries matters, including traffic accident, Employees' Compensation claims, slip and falls, and medical negligence. She has acted for both plaintiffs as well as defendants (insurers).
At the same time, she possesses exceptional legal research abilities and is highly efficient. She also often attends Court in criminal cases and handles commercial litigation. She is familiar with both criminal and civil procedures.

Andrew Lau, Solicitor

Mr. Lau obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from Cardiff University, the United Kingdom, and then a Master of Laws degree from the University of Hong Kong.
Mr. Lau's practice areas span from personal injuries matters, including traffic accident, Employees' Compensation claims, slip and falls, and medical negligence, to criminal and commercial litigation. He conducts thorough legal research and is able to draft complex legal documents in a persuasive and precise manner. For both criminal and civil cases, he always strives to achieve the best outcomes for his clients in and out of Court.

Alice Lau, Solicitor

Ms. Lau obtained her Juris Doctor degree from City University of Hong Kong. She now specialises in the criminal practice and has experience handling a wide range of criminal cases such as theft, wounding, indecent assault, as well as those related to the Housing Authority, Immigration Department and the ICAC.
Besides her ability to meticulously analyse facts of criminal cases, Ms. Lau is very passionate and makes it her life mission to help every client in need.
